We came here during Long Island Restaurant Week because the three-course prix-fixe menu seemed too good to pass up. We were lucky enough to make reservations the day of–practically unheard of during that week! We were pleasantly surprised with valet upon arrival. It was a nice added touch that we weren’t expecting.
We were seated within a few minutes, ordered our drinks and looked over the menu. Mike ordered the chowder and salmon and I ordered the baked clams and roasted chicken. The other couple with us ordered the spinach dip and seafood combo and the chowder and chicken as well. The appetizers tasted great. The spinach dip almost had a buttery consistency which went well with the crostini. Mike liked his chowder and I really enjoyed my baked clams. Many places add too much bread crumbs but these had a good amount of clam.
Our entrees came out not too long after. Everything smelled delicious and the portions were decent, especially considering we were getting the restaurant week special. Mike’s salmon could not have been better. I found my chicken was a bit dry, but the rosemary sauce was plentiful and delicious so I quickly forgot about the dry chicken because it didn’t really matter!
For dessert, two of us ordered the apple crumble ala mode and the other two ordered the toasted pound cake with a chocolate drizzle. At first glance, we thought the desserts looked cheap and small. Once we got a taste that opinion completely changed! The apple crumble was out of this world and the pound cake was probably the most simple yet best tasting thing I’ve tasted in a while!
Overall, service was great, especially given the circumstances and how tired the staff must have been towards the end of restaurant week! The decor was minimal. I was expecting more of a nautical feel inside however, the restaurant sits right on the water and given the right seat you could have a great view of the marina.
We will be returning again to check out the rest of their menu!
